As an expat overseas

Each of us have our own roots in our home country, some stronger than others. Our journeys as expats has led both of us to the other side of the ocean. I believe that new potentials can be found in life regardless of where you live. By potential, I mean resources, opportunities, and performance. Sometimes these can be hidden behind a workload or a challenging life situation, for example. Work supervision can help you. Feel free to contact me!

Everyone benefits from work supervision

There are many reasons for applying for work supervision. It helps employees and the work community to research and strengthen their basic role, to find new perspectives and ways of working, and to support professional growth and well-being at work. The supervisor does not have to be a professional in the same field as the supervisee. The work is based on mutual trust, interaction and the learners’ own insights. Work supervision can be implemented as an individual or as a team. Meetings are either face-to-face or remotely, in a peaceful and confidential space.

An expert at your service

Susanna Merikanto-Timonen

Hi! I have a Master of Theology (ThM) degree from the University of Helsinki and am a supervisor approved by the Finnish Work Supervisors Association (STOry). I have worked among expats for more than 20 years – as an employee, on the employer side, as a volunteer, as a spouse and as a mother. I have everyday life experience from Germany, the United States and the United Arab Emirates, as well as returning to Finland. I also have shorter work experiences abroad from Scotland, Thailand and Belgium. Work supervision is a learning process and I bring my work experience and diverse training to this joint work supervision journey. As a work supervisor, I have been described as an encouraging and positive travel partner on the way to the supervisee´s own goals. In my free time I can be found participating in a triathlon. “
